Day 365 - $25,033

Well... that's all folks. The final number as of one year was $25,033! (We actually have a couple checks still coming to us from fundraisers we did in March that will hit the account so it will end up being a couple hundred dollars more... but that's the number as of now.)

One year flew by pretty dang quick! I can't believe it's over. Everyone keeps asking me, "what are you going to do with Give One Million once the year is up?"

Well I have some ideas, but I haven't really come to a conclusion yet. I do know I'm not going to just quit cold turkey! There are a couple opportunities for fundraisers that may occur in April, so we'll see what happens there... but I will say - As of right now, I won't be able to keep putting in as much time as I did throughout the year. I put a lot of personal things aside/neglected a lot of things I needed to do throughout the year because I was spending so much time doing GOM stuff. So I kind of need to give some attention to those now that GOM is over.

I'm very happy with what we accomplished this year! I learned a lot along the way. I plan to write of a summary of lessons learned from GOM for everyone. I will post it on this blog, so don't stop coming back to visit quite yet :)

I hope to have that up for you soon.

And most important: Thanks to everyone for your support this year. Especially those of you that really supported me! My wonderful Wife. Thank you for letting me spend all my free time with GOM! I know it was kind of hard on the family sometimes or you had to take on extra kid duty, stayed up with me to all hours of the night, or whatever because I was doing GOM stuff - You were there with me every night, every event, through it all - and for that, I'm very grateful! Thanks and I love you!

Thanks to my kids! They are the best thing in my life. I love them more than anything. They were there with me through all this too. J and Tiny... Thank you!

My family! Mom and Dad... A Huge thank you for everything you did. You have always supported me with everything I do - and this was no different. It means so much to have such great parents. You did a ton too! They were responsible for a large portion of what we raised - so I want to really say thank you to you Mom and Dad! Also my Sisters and Brother. You have been there through all of this too! Donating time and money. I knew my family would support me in this... but when it actually happened - and you really did stand with me. I really made me feel like a very lucky guy to have such good sisters and brother! Thanks for everything you did!

And last - thanks to my very supportive friends! You know who you are! There are a few of you out there that really supported me through this last year. When times got tuff, and it seemed like not too many people were listening - Some of my best friends and supporters were there to keep me going. Thank you!

So that's all for now... but that's not all. I'll be posting lessons learned, and let you know about anything else going on, and the future of GOM.

Thanks again to everyone!

Talk Soon,

David

I hope everyone can come out, have some fun, and help us reach our goal of one million dollars in one year for the kids of St. Jude!!!!

On another note... I'm working on some thing out here in KC as well. I went in and spoke with the Sonic Drive-In manager today. It looks like we're on for March 19th. We will be doing the car hopping. All donations and tips will go to Give One Million. So if you are in the KC/Blue Springs area - let me know if you're free to help out on the 19th. It's a Saturday, and we'll be there from 10 AM to 2 PM. I'll need about 8 or 9 volunteers to help me and Melissa with the car hopping.

I put out some more donation cans in the area. One is at Zarda's BBQ here in Blue Springs. They were really cool about it. It's Good BBQ, and seems to be quite a busy place, so hopefully a donation can right on the front desk will raise some money!

I also spoke with the manager at Chili's in Independence today. We are going to set up a Chili's night here in Independence kind of like we're doing in Idaho Falls. I have to get the date(s) lined up, but it will be going down in March (of course). He also let me put out a donation can there at Chili's too.

So it was a pretty successful day. We're just trying to do anything and everything we can fit into these last few weeks to reach our goal.

I'm just imagining myself reaching the goal. I want everyone to join with me in doing that as well... Just picture it in your mind. Stay positive and just keep thinking we can do it!

If you believe it, you can achieve it!

Day 311 - $17,688

We went out with some friends this weekend. We had a great time. As it seems to frequently happen these days... the topic of Give One Million came up. Our friends were very supportive and generous and donated to GOM. But of all the donations given that night - the biggest one came from our new 6 year old friend Alex (Our friend's daughter). She donated her hard earned lemonade stand money to help the kids of St. Jude. Her one dollar donation is an example to all of us!!

Help me reach one million in one year. Donate now!

Day 256 - $14,120

Ok... I wanted to post last night, but my Internet went out :(

The $1,000 check hit from ATK! So we are over $14k now! Melissa and I are going to be sending out Christmas cards this week. We are going to be asking our friends to donate in our "update" letter. Good idea right?

Don't forget we have GOM T-shirts for $10. They make great Christmas presents! And all the proceeds go to GOM for St. Jude.

So I haven't heard back from all the famous people I've been emailing about GOM. Still nothing from Jessica. I was hoping that waiting in line for 4 hours and giving her a letter and GOM shirt would persuade her to help. Wouldn't you be impressed if I waited in line for 4 hours to see you and then gave you a T-shirt?? I'm still trying to get anyone/everyone to listen though. Still writing emails. Still posting on FB walls. If anyone out there can help by sending an email to someone they might have some sort of contact with that could help - that would be awesome. Just do me a favor and send an email today. right now. You're already on the Internet!

We still have the Jonny Harline footballs for sale too. It's not too late to get one for the BYU fan in your family.

P.S. Better than Ezra... if you're reading this... It's not too late for a benefit concert!!! :)

Help me reach one million in one year. Donate now!

Day 241 - $11,930

We've had a lot of donations coming in over the last week. Thank you to everyone for that. Many of the donations have come from potato sales. Thank you, great job on that, and keep up the good work!

So I have some big news everyone... Drum Roll Please...

St. Jude posted an article about Give One Million on their website!!!!!!!!

I'm really excited about this because I feel like it means that St. Jude is actually acknowledging Give One Million. Out of all the articles written so far - this is definately the best! I know they appreciate all the help, and they always have... but it's just kind of cool because if they wrote about Give One Million on THEIR website... That's a pretty big deal right?? :)

Help me reach one million in one year. Donate now!

Day 237 - $11,071

I've been working on some things behind the scenes lately. I'm trying to send emails to "influential" people asking if they will help. Sending emails to newspapers, magazines, radio stations, TV stations, etc. If you know someone in one of those industries that you think could help us - definitely write them an email and tell them about GOM. I need some help doing this, because there are literally thousands of "famous" people we could email, and I won't be able to write everyone. Plus, I'm sure there are some great people out there that I don't know about, or think of that could really help. So if you can please help with emails.

I'm trying to get people to visit the blog as well. If I can figure out ways to bring people here... I think they will donate. It's just getting them here that's the problem. I'm just one of MILLIONS of blogs. But I have a few ideas I'm working on, so we'll see if we can do better there. BTW. If you have any ideas to get more people to visit the blog, let me know - of if you can just refer people here from you blog or website that would be AWESOME!

I'm making a movie right now. an epic movie trailer for GOM. It's just finding the time to get the shots I need that is taking longer than I would like. Don't worry though. It will be out soon. I think everyone will like it.

So, all these things don't really bring home the bacon immediately, but hopefully they help out in the long run. (For as much of a long run as we have... do you realize we only have 128 days left to reach our goal?????)

Help me reach one million in one year. Donate now!

Day 223 - $10,283

Hey everyone. How's life? I hope it's going good for you. So I've been thinking about a few things for GOM lately.

1. Just donating. When we first started we were getting a lot of just plain old donations. I know we've been doing a lot of events, and raising lots of money, but I still think that if this is going to happen, we have to have people just flat out donate. Every morning, the first thing I do is check the GOM hotmail account to see if anyone donated. And I'm just being honest here... but sometimes it gets a little disappointing when I check it day after day - week after week at times... and nobody has just plain donated. When I do open my email and see there is a donation - it literally makes my day. It doesn't matter the amount. Just knowing that someone out there is paying attention to what we're doing, and wants to help us reach our goal, and help the kids of St. Jude... That's what makes my day. So if you can, will you donate today? Whatever you can give will be greatly appreciated!!!

2. Facebook. The reason I push FB so much, is this: IF WE GET ONE MILLION FANS ON FB, AND EVERYONE DONATES ONE DOLLAR - WE REACH OUR GOAL! I know that sounds far-fetched... Maybe it is. But what if we get to 100,000 fans? Then it's only $10 a person (Actually less than that because of what we've earned so far.) Or, even if we get 50,000 fans. The bottom line is this. The more fans - the more money we are going to raise. So PLEEEEEEAAAAASSSSSSSEEEEEEE invite your friends on FB to follow and like the GOM page. www.facebook.com/giveonemillion

3. I just had a friend from High School call me up this week. Her company is having a Christmas party. Every year they have one, and raise money for a charity. This year... she thought of Give One Million! :) I can't tell you how happy I am to have her help! When people like that step up to help, it really makes me think we can do this! If I can just somehow figure out a way to get others to do what my friend is doing - we CAN reach our goal. It doesn't have to be anything huge... it can be something you already do (like my friends Christmas party) I just ask that you think of GOM.... I have so many irons in the fire with GOM, any help I can get is awesome... And that was the whole idea from the beginning. I'm not doing this by myself. This is a "we" project. I just so happen to be the one getting the ball rolling so to speak. My intent from the beginning was not to do everything myself - but rather do as much as I can, and hopefully inspire others to join with me. So think with me for a minute... is there something you can do? Something at your work you could do to raise some money? Are you going to be doing anything over the holidays that will let you tell people about GOM or raise some money? Maybe it's a dress down day at work. Maybe it's a donation can at your church Christmas party. There's hundreds of ideas.

4. And last... Sponsors! Do you know a company or does your company want to sponsor GOM for St. Jude? They can do it by donating money, advertising, or even their services. Can your company donate anything? I work for ATK, and I just got them to donate $1,000. Will your employer donate anything. We'll list them as a sponsor if they do. Do you own a business? Can you state that you support GOM on your website? Can you put up a button? Do you have business that advertises or can spread the word somehow? Maybe you work for a marketing firm. If so, can you donate some marketing services? It's just a thought. You'll notice we have lots of sponsors down on the right. (Please visit their sites!) But we'd love to have more!

Well... I think that's it for tonight. Tomorrow's going to be a busy day at work. Gotta get some shut eye :)

David

Day 69 - $1,901

Well... I knew this was going to be a roller coaster! Today was a great day for Give One Million! (So far most days have been great days!)

A couple big Thank You's are needed...

First, a big thanks to my Auntie Dee Dee and Uncle Vince for their support on the Give One Million T-shirts. They've been helping out a ton with them, and they will be available shortly. So if you need any screen printing or that sort of thing done - they are definitely the ones to go to! I added them to the sponsor list below for all the time, effort, and money they are putting into helping Give One Million. Check em out!

Second, another big thanks to Dr. Sean Rogan at Midwest Chiropractic and Sports Medicine! Because of his generous donation - we will soon have a Give One Million banner printed up. This will be great for all the events coming up throughout the year, and definitely help us get some attention/donations. You'll see pics of the banner when we have our Sonic Drive-In fundraiser on June 19th. I also added Midwest Chiropractic to the sponsor section - if you live in the KC area you should definitely check them out.

Third, I need to give a big shout out to my friend Lynzie and everyone at the Paul Mitchell School in Rexburg, ID. They are planning a Give One Million for St. Jude fundraiser for sometime in July. I'll keep you posted on the details. Thanks Lynzie!

Fourth, Thank you for the online donations today! We are almost to $2,000 folks. Not too shabby...

And last, but not least...

LDSLiving Magazine called me a week or so ago to do an interview about Give One Million - and they published an article on their website today!!! CLICK HERE to read it!

There is a lot going on... and it's only going to go up from here! Like always - If you're new here, please add this to the list of blogs you follow. Follow Give One Million for St. Jude on Facebook and Twitter. Add a button to your blog. Watch the video I made for Ellen DeGeneres. And last - don't wait!!! Donate today, and tell your friends and family to do the same. So far, we've made a $1,901 difference in the fight against cancer. With your help (yep, you reading this right now!) we can make a million dollar difference in the fight against cancer!

David

P.S. Feel free to email me or leave a comment if you want to help us reach a million dollars in one year by organizing an event in your area. I need all the help I can get :)

Day 50 - $1,370

My sister emptied out her change jar and donated her spare change!

Does anyone else have spare change?

Is there any better way you could use that extra change, than to help the kids at St. Jude who are fighting for their life? Think about it. If we can help them in some way... if we can make just a small difference... think about what that would mean.

Put yourself in their parents shoes for a minute. How would you feel if your son or daughter was sick and someone offered to help? Even if it was the change from their pocket - just the thought that someone out there cares enough to give (whatever amount) would mean a lot! I know as a dad myself, that would mean a lot to me.

That's what we're doing here people! True... some spare change won't make much of a difference, but if a few hundred people give their spare change - maybe it will make a difference. If we work together, and actually accomplish one million dollars in one year - think of how many lives will be blessed.

Now onto some good news! My mom is sponsoring a Give One Million garage sale in Idaho Falls, ID this weekend! So if you are in Idaho - make sure you go over and pick up some cool gadgets while you support Give One Million for St. Jude at the same time. So here are the details:

It's at 1302 Tipperary Court in the Shamrock Park Addition
Idaho Falls, ID
Saturday, May 15th 8am to 1pm
100% of the proceeds will be donated to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital via Give One Million.

I received my official logos - A big thanks to Denise Hadley for those. And a big thanks to everyone else that has donated since the last post! Keep it up everyone... We're on our way!

Day 35 - $1,185

Today I'm introducing vacation homes for Give One Million.

From now on you will see another button on the left side of the blog. If you are going on a vacation this year - or know anyone that is - listen up! I negotiated a deal with my dad and his house down in Mazatlan Mexico. Here are the details:

He rents it out for anywhere from $600 to $800 a week depending on the time of year. He said that if someone donates $50 to Give One Million, he will discount the price $75 per week. Also, if you donate $100, he will discount the price $150 per week. It's a brand new 3 Bedroom/3bath home in Mazatlan!

So let's say you and your significant other decide it's time for a vacation. You invite two couples to go with you. Let's say you pick a week that goes for $600 (May-Nov). You donate $100 to Give One Million - So the rental cost would only be $450. As you have all noticed I like to do calculations... So let's look at this.

$450 + $100 donation = $550 Total Price for a week

$550 / 7 Days = $78.57 per day for everyone

$78.57 per day / 3 couples = $26.19 a day for portion

$26.19 * 7 days = $183

You can stay in a brand new house in Mazatlan for a whole week for $183!!! So here is the link to the webpage with all the details on the vacation home. His number is on there. If you call, just tell him David told you to call. And yes... that is Pa Feldman holding two giant fish...

Attention: Do you have a vacation home or cabin? Do you know someone that does? If you or anyone you know would like to support Give One Million by setting up a deal like this please let me know! I will add your vacation home or cabin, and provide details for perspective vacationers! You can support Give One Million, and rent your property at the same time. It's a win/win situation!

Day 32 - $675

Thank you everyone for your support and donations! Thanks to my sister for her donation -having the support of family means a lot! I think this is going great so far. It's going about how I expected - and that's a good thing! Hopefully everyone out there can spread the word, and we can get the snowball effect going on. Month One is going down in the books as $600. If - each month - we can double the amount of donations coming in... We would reach our goal with a month or so to spare. Simple enough right... So here's how were going to do it:

1. Donate Now! Don't think someone else will do it. If everyone thinks that, what will the outcome be? It doesn't have to be a lot. If you're like us you eat out a few times a week. So cut out a burger and fries just one time and there you go - you just freed up ten bucks. I know it may be hard to give money when you really don't see where it's going... or when there's not a face or name to see. But if you just push pause on life for one minute and think about who we are helping here, and what your money would be doing, perhaps you'd think a little harder about giving up that burger and fries.

2. Ok, so now that you've donated. Next tell everyone you know to donate. Send personal emails. Tell people what you are doing, and why. Tell people you don't know. Get some flyers from me and hand them out. Talk to your neighbor down that street that owns a business, and see what he/she can do. I'm finding this out first hand... You'd be surprised how willing people are to help out for a good cause.

3. Follow this blog. See there on the left... yep, right there with the little squares full of faces. Add your name there. Even if you don't know me. Especially if you don't know me! Follow Give One Million on Facebook and Twitter. See the little buttons at the end of each post? Use them! Digg the posts if you like them. All these things are ways to show the world we're here. And maybe if we get enough of that going on, people will start to take notice. And when people take notice - donations will come in.

4. Last, but not least. Stand up and do something in your community for Give One Million. Organize something big or small. Contact me to see what you can do. I need help from people all across the country - Why can't it be you???

Thanks to everyone for everything you've done so far!!! One month is gone, we've got eleven left. Let's see what we can do this month!

Day 31 - $600

So as each of you know... I am doing anything and everything (Click here if you can't remember what I will do to raise money for St. Jude's.) to raise one million dollars for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. I'm definitely trying to organize and sponsor the biggest fundraisers/events I possibly can. But in the meantime, to fill up the little times when nothing big is going on - I will do whatever I can to spread the word and raise money for my goal of one million in one year. So that's exactly what I did this Saturday morning...

As soon as we woke up this morning, my little boy and I went to the store to buy a gas can. We made a quick stop at the gas station, and brought it home to fill up the lawnmower. After a quick spring tune-up, I set out. I pushed it down the street stopping at each door to ask, "I'm trying to raise one million dollars in one year for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. If I mow your lawn this morning, will you donate $20 to St. Jude?" I was surprised and somewhat disappointed that I wasn't having any takers. So after a half hour or so, I lowered my asking price to $15. Still nobody would let me do it. So I went to $10. That's when I finally made a deal to rake up all the leaves/those little poky ball things that fall out of the trees for $10. FINALLY! I was just happy someone agreed to let me do something! So I called my wife. She brought the rake, broom, and kids. (I don't plan on using my kids real names on this blog, so for future reference, I'll call them Tiny and J)

I had two great little helpers!

Melis was a big help too, as you can see from this wonderful picture J took :)

J's a good example to all of us!

We ended up getting a $15 donation for our efforts (and possibly more later), which I was really happy about. It started raining, so we were only able to do one house, but like I keep saying: every little bit helps! It was fun to do this as a family. and great for the kids to learn about doing service and hard work for others. When Melis asked J what he thought about doing the work he said, "It makes me feel good in my heart."

Day 29 - $585

Thank you for the donation U.G.!!! Also a big thanks to all of our friends for donating. Let's keep the ball rolling eveyone. If you're here reading this right now... donate! Every little bit helps.

Help me reach one million in one year. Donate now!

Day 26 - $400

We're coming up on four weeks and guess what... We hit $400!!! Thanks Mom and Dad for the donation. I really appreciate your support! We are keeping with the average of $100 a week. But actually... It's starting to creep over $100 a week. I'm excited that the word is starting to spread about Give One Million. Please come back often to see what we are doing, and what you can to to help. Because that is the key - YOU! yes you out there reading this post... We need your help to 1. Donate 2. tell everyone you know about Give One Million 3. contact me about how you can hold a fundraiser in your community to support Give One Million for St. Jude.

So I have to ask... I've had great support from friends and family so far on this project. I consider myself very lucky in that respect - very lucky! Well... Having said that, I wonder who will be the first person to donate that doesn't know me personally? I know there's a lot of you out there...approximately 6 billion :) (Not that if you do know me, I'm discouraging you to donate in any way!) If you're thinking about supporting what I'm doing here... well... DO IT! Don't say you'll donate tomorrow. Do it today. Don't tell me your wallet's in the other room. Go get it! Everyone out there remember this: It doesn't have to be a huge donation! Every dollar counts! You can donate one dollar for all I care... Just take the step to show you support the kids at St. Jude - and you support finding a cure for them!

Day 17

Calling All Followers!!!

If you are here on this blog - reading this post - I'm going to assume you care just as much as me about fighting cancer, and more specifically childhood cancer. So if that's the case, why not follow this blog??? Do you see that little sidebar title down to the right that says FOLLOWERS... Well - that's what I'm talking about. Follow this blog, follow Give One Million on Twitter, and follow Give One Million on Youtube and Facebook (when I get those up and running).

Just to convince you, I'll list the top five reasons you should follow Give One Million.

5. When we reach our goal - you'll be able to tell your friends you were one of the first to follow.

4. Since you'll be up-to-date on everything - you will be able to help out when you can.

3. You'll show your friends and family that you are supporting something to find a cure for cancer

2. It will help me know that I'm not staying up until one in the morning every night chronicling this goal for no reason. (OK - maybe that's a little selfish on my part - but it's nice to know that someone out there is listening - and actually cares about what we're doing here)

And the number one reason to follow Give One Million is...

1. With every donation, and all your support - you will literally be helping kids that have been diagnosed with cancer and the families of kids with cancer at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Anything you can do to help and support them is a good thing!

OK - I'm just thinking out loud here - but go with me for a minute. Imagine if Give One Million had 10,000 or 20,000 or 30,000 followers? Just think what we could do to reach our goal of one million dollars. Melissa (my wife - for those of you that don't know me) came up with a great idea: Dollar Day. We tell all of our followers that such and such a date is dollar day. Tell all of our followers that on that day (whatever day it is) to donate just one dollar. that's it. Just one dollar. Well, if I get half of my followers to donate $1 on that day - and let's say we have 20,000 followers for this example - that means we earn $10,000 in one day toward our goal!!! Do you get where I'm going with this... That's just one idea of something we can do if we get people following what we're doing here.

So are you in? Good!

Day 14

Well, we've officially hit the two week mark. We are still at $175. Thanks to everyone so far, but we still have a long way to go. So PLEASE spread the word!!! www.giveonemillion.blogspot.com Luckily we still have 351 days to pull this off - so I'm still very confident. The pancake breakfast is coming along. What I mean by that is: from the phone calls so far, I can officially mark off a few places we can't hold the event. But I'm still working it, so stay tuned on that front. I'm up late once again searching for ways (any ways) to get the word spread about Give One Million. Once we get some traffic here, I think it will open a lot of doors on things we can do to raise some money. Until then - if you're reading this, do something. If you can't donate money, just tell your coworkers! I'll settle for that at this moment. If your thinking you'll "get around to it tomorrow..." Let me just tell you from someone that knows a thing or two about procrastinating... it will never happen! Act now. Do something now.

I'm tired. I'm going to bed now. But before I do, I'm going to say a prayer - and pray like crazy that when I check this tomorrow we are over $175.

Day 12

This is what I've been up to the last couple days:

I submitted an add on craigslist (KC)

I tried to post an add on KSL.com multiple times but couldn't. I've posted on there in the past with no problems, but for some reason it's not letting me post... Frustrating!

I used one service on Fiverr.com in an attempt to get some increase visibility for Give One Million. I think I will continue with that.

I submitted giveonemillion.blogspot.com to Twitcause.

I started a YouTube channel. I haven't posted any videos there yet, but hopefully that will come in time. If you have a good video you think will help our cause - shoot me an email or leave a comment, and I'll see what I can to to get it posted. I'll add a YouTube badge to my sidebar as soon as I have an actual video there to watch :)

I contacted St. Jude to discuss the possibility of using their name and information to promote my pancake breakfast. It's looking good as far as that goes. Now I just need a location before I can make it official. I started making some calls today - I'll keep you posted on that.

And last, I've been spending countless hours (mainly on the internet) brainstorming and looking for ways to get the word out about Give One Million. Once again... any help with that would be greatly appreciated. Talk soon.

Day 3

So it’s day three and we’re still at $100. I’m not surprised though. As of right now I think there are maybe two other people in the universe that know about this “little” endeavor of mine.

That’s all about to change…

Tonight I check off the first item on my list of ways to raise money: Email friends and family. So to everyone who’s here now for the first time… welcome aboard!

Now that I’ve welcomed you, let’s get down to business. Please Donate! Please help me spread the word! And last, please check back here often - as I will definitely be needing your help and support.

Let me break it down a little more.

Donate: I may be the one asking you to donate, but please remember this is much bigger than me. I may talk about this being my goal or project or whatever, but don’t forget what this is really about: fighting cancer. I’m sure all of you have dealt with cancer personally – either with friends or family, and it’s a terrible thing. However, if we work together we can help. I may joke around and be light-hearted sometimes through this process – but don’t let that mislead you regarding how truly serious I am about this.

Those you that know me; know that I’m a goofball 90% of the time – but the 10% serious Dave had to come out there for a minute to make things perfectly clear.

Now moving on… Just give something. It can be $5 dollars, it can be $500 (maybe you’re filthy rich or have filthy rich friends: it can be $50,000) – just give something. It’s simple to do, so you have no excuse not to donate. Just follow the directions in the previous post.

Spread the word: This is an especially important step for those of you out there that have the aforementioned filthy rich friends. OK, I’m kidding – this is important for everyone. (But if you do know someone that burns benjamins in the fireplace to stay warm on a cold day it wouldn’t hurt… I’m just saying…) So if you got an email to come here, pass it on to everyone on your contact list. And regardless of if you got an email or not just tell all of your co-corkers. Tell everyone at church. Tell that weird uncle that pulls a quarter out of your ear at family reunions and tells you not to spend it all in one place. Tell your kids. (Have you seen how fast they can text???) Tell Everyone!

Maybe you can send the link to this blog to one person a day. Maybe you can post a link to this blog on your blog. (There will be more to come in future posts on blogs, facebook, twitter, etc, but you can get started now.) Maybe you can use this as an excuse to call an old friend. Just do what you can to get the word out: giveonemillion.blogspot.com

Check back often: Trust me, I’m going to be up to a lot in the upcoming year. As of right now I have a list of 26 things to do in order to reach one million dollars in one year. Everything from posting videos on YouTube to organizing a pancake breakfast charity event. And I’m sure I’ll come up with about 10 more ideas every day. So what I’m saying, is I will need help and support – And plus it may be somewhat entertaining to see “what crazy idea David has now”. Or to read the blog posts chronicling the failures and successes as we strive for one million in one year to help fight childhood cancer. And most important – the more you come back, the more chances I have to talk you into donating! (or donating again)

Well, it’s getting late, so I think that’s enough for day 3.

Talk Soon,

David

***UPDATE***

Remember how I said there were only two people that knew about this website??? One happens to be my wife, and the other happens to sit next to me at work. Needless to say, each of them listen to me flap my gums for approximately 8 hours a day. Well my wife obviously supports me in everything I do, and was more than by my side in donating our first $100 – but now we have our official number two donation!!! We are at $150 now – Major props to my awesome co-worker for being the first to donate Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
