Day 362 - $22,199

3 Days left!!! Everyone please donate. Especially those of you out there that are reading this that haven't donated yet. If you are reading this right now, and you haven't donated - please take this sentence as a sign from heaven above - that you are at this website at this time for a reason... and the reason is: TO DONATE!!!!

Seriously everyone... I'm literally begging you... PLEASE!

Just click on the donate link. It doesn't take much time or effort - and it doesn't even have to be very much. Just donate something.

OK - now that I have that out of the way, you may have noticed I have some photos below. And I'm sure your saying to yourself, "wow - those look like some pretty cool photos, I wonder what those could be from?" Well... I'm here to tell you. They are from our GOM for St. Jude week we had in Idaho last week. We raised around $4k from that! HUGE! just plain HUGE! Thanks to everyone involved. I don't know all of your names - but nevertheless, a BIG thanks to you! Enjoy the pics everyone.

Some of the ticket sales from the Idaho Falls Basketball All-Star game went to GOM for St. Jude

Day 356 - $21,928

Sorry it's been so long since the last post - but I wanted to leave the Black and Yellow Remix up at the top for as long as I could. BTW... if you haven't seen it, take a look at the post below - you won't be disappointed!
So Give One Million for St. Jude week in Idaho was awesome!!! Thanks to everyone involved. I really appreciate everything everyone did. When this all started, that is what I had in mind of how things would happen.... people would see what we were doing, and just take their ideas and run with them. And that's exactly what happened in Idaho this week. So THANK YOU!

Now - for Saturday - We will be at the SONIC in Blue Springs MO (on South Route 7). So please come and make a donation and get a burger! ALSO... I still need people to help with the car hopping. I'm having a little trouble finding volunteers :(

OK... now for all the random thoughts that are running through my head constantly - especially this last week of GOM:

send emails to everyone you know and ask them to donate!!!

PLEASE TELL EVERYONE YOU KNOW!!! We only have 9 days left!!!!! ONLY 9 DAYS!!!!

I wrote to Ellen and all her crew again this week. I'm doing everything I can to try and reach her. If you know of anyone that can help us with a big donation please do everything you can to convince them this is a good cause! One million for the kids of St. Jude with cancer... They need us!

Send invites on FB.

Tell everyone at work (I'm having a screening tomorrow at my work and showing everyone my Black and Yellow Video in our conference room, hence the poster above - they are plastered all over my office.)

I never heard from anyone else making a GOM video... That's too bad. I was hoping someone would make one. hmmmm.

If you haven't donated... DONATE for crying out loud!! I don't know what else I can do to convince you. It doesn't have to be much either!!! Any amount is awesome! Just do it.

Even though there are only 9 days left - we still have a chance. Just tell everyone... OK... TELL EVERYONE EVERY WAY YOU CAN.

Alright... I'll see everyone on Saturday at

SONIC DRIVE-IN

Day 341 - $18,734

OK... it's March 1st. This is it folks. We only have until March 25th. If anyone out there is still listening to me at this point - I need your help now. First of all... DONATE!!! And try to get everyone you know to donate as well! Try just getting two friends to donate, and then have them ask two friends to donate. And on and on like that. It doesn't matter how much you donate, or how much your friends donate... Just donate. Please!

I am going to try and do a Sonic Fundraiser again in March. I'm going to call my Sonic contact tomorrow and try and set it up for the 19th. We'll see how that goes. If that doesn't work, I'm going to have to think of something else big to do in March. I'll let you know how that goes.

We have some big things going down in Idaho as well. The Idaho Falls Area High School Basketball All-Star game is going to raise money for GOM!!! They are going to do a bunch of things. I'll have more details on that soon.

I'm still editing my video. I am hoping to have that done by this weekend. I know I'm building this up! It should be worth the wait though. I think everyone is going to like it. Hopefully it goes viral!!! :)

I'm going to send my last plea to Ellen. So far I haven't heard anything back from her.. :( I'm just going to keep sending her the video that I made for her. Maybe I'll hear something back.

Send people to this blog! Tell people to visit the blog and become a fan! The only way we can get donations is if people come and look around the blog for a while... that way they can get excited about what we are doing, and want to become a Give One Millionaire!

25 days left everyone! Don't give up on me...

Help me reach one million in one year. Donate now!

Day 337 - $18,734

OK everyone. Now is the time for our last push to reach our goal. We have less than a month left to reach one million dollars so if you are going to organize a GOM event - now is the time to start planning. Remember!!! March 25th is the cutoff. If you're going to send emails to friends, now is the time. If you are going to invite all your facebook friends, now is the time. If you are going to donate - or have your family/friends donate, now is the time. Come on everyone... we've raised almost $2ok!!! Let's not stop there! Let's reach one million just like we set out to do.

OK. So here's a challenge.... I'm working on a Give One Million for St. Jude video right now. I think most of you know that. You've probably seen all my other videos I have posted on Youtube as well right? Well... now it's your turn. For this last month everyone out there make a video telling the world about Give One Million and how we're trying to raise one million dollars in one year for the kids of St. Jude. Ask them to donate. Ask them to help. Ask them to make a video and pass yours along. Make it funny. Make it serious. Have it be just you. Make it with a bunch of friends. Anything (appropriate) goes. Just make the video and send it to me (by March 15th - the sooner the better). I'll then post it here on this blog, on FB, and post it on the GOM Youtube Channel too. Let's flood the internet with GOM videos and reach our goal!

Send videos to giveonemillion@hotmail.com

Talk Soon,

David

Day 318 - $18,599

Thank you to everyone that put on and came out to the work out on Saturday in Vancouver! According to my calculations... You raised $512!

As Nacho Libre would say: That's Fantastic!

So for the life of me... I can't seem to figure out how to pass the 700 fan mark on Facebook! I think I have maxed out my sphere of influence. I'm afraid my acquaintances have given me the "mute button". I hope not, but after almost a year of soliciting donations for GOM... I'm wondering if that's the case :(

I was speaking to a lady on the phone the this week who spent her entire 35 year career as a professional fundraiser, and she was telling me something I already know... and have been trying to address for some time -but when she said it... it just reinforced how true it is, and how I can't avoid doing any longer:

"You have to expand past your circle of friends and acquaintances. You have to do bigger projects that reach people you don't know. You can only hit up your family and friends so many times. Pretty soon, when people see you, they'll start running the other direction."

I've been trying to do that since I started this whole thing... but it's easier said than done.

Hmmmm.

So for the last couple months, I am going to try and do that. I see the Internet as a good medium to expand in that way. YouTube is a good way... I think. Videos are good. I'm working on one right now that I hope generates some buzz. What other ways can I reach people outside my sphere of influence? Any ideas? Anything you can do? If you're reading this and don't know me please help me by spreading the word about GOM to your friends :)

Help me reach one million in one year. Donate now!

Day 311 - $17,688

We went out with some friends this weekend. We had a great time. As it seems to frequently happen these days... the topic of Give One Million came up. Our friends were very supportive and generous and donated to GOM. But of all the donations given that night - the biggest one came from our new 6 year old friend Alex (Our friend's daughter). She donated her hard earned lemonade stand money to help the kids of St. Jude. Her one dollar donation is an example to all of us!!

Help me reach one million in one year. Donate now!

Day 308 - $17,413

OK... So now I'm thinking about what I can do as big event in February. A friend is planning a GOM event for Feb 5th up in Vancouver, WA. I don't have a ton of details yet - so everyone up there I'm not ignoring you - but as soon as I have them, I will let you know.

I think we also have a GOM benefit concert in the works as well. I think it will be up there in the Portland area

... I think. I'll have to check on that :)

I'll have more info on that later as well. I'm just trying to scramble and do everything I can these last couple months to get the word out, and get things organized.

So that's where you come in. Can everyone do me a couple favors...

1. Write emails to anyone and everyone that has any sort of following. News people, Radio people, Store owners, Etc, Etc.

2. FOLLOW ON FACEBOOK, and then INVITE ALL YOUR FRIENDS TO DO THE SAME. That means "suggest" the GOM page to all your FB friends. When we get a little closer to the end, I'm going to ask all our FB fans to donate. The more we have... the more we earn for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

3. Last, but definitely not least.... if you have not donated yet. Please do!

Help me reach one million in one year. Donate now!

Day 286 - $16,036

I'm not holding back on who I ask to sponsor me. Eveyone is invited to sponsor me. Here's the email I sent to Ellen

Hi Ellen,

I just wanted to let you know about Give One Million for St. Jude. It's a campaign I started back on March 25th to raise one million dollars in one year for St. Jude. Here's a video I made for you that will explain everything: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oXZGvwVcXug

So I have now raised over $16,000!!!!! I know. I know. It's nothing near one million yet. But I think it's a great start. Well, I'm down to only about 80 days left, but I'm still doing everything I can to reach my goal. The next big event I'm organizing is a walk-a-thon. I'm planning to walk (I should say hoping)26 miles on January 22nd. Here in Independence, MO. I'm getting people to sponsor me "per mile". So far I have 26 sponsors for a grand total of $51 per mile! So… I was wondering if you would like to sponsor me for my walk-a-thon? Any amount per mile would be awesome! Or…. If you wanted to, you could even walk with me. I’m inviting people to walk with me and either donate $15 or get their own sponsors. If you walk – you get a Give One Million T-shirt, and a St. Jude pin :)
So let me know if you can sponsor me! Here is a link to the Give One Million blog giving all the details on the walk-a-thon: http://giveonemillion.blogspot.com/2010/12/day-261-14509.html
I hope to hear from you soon!

Thanks Ellen!

David Feldman
http://www.giveonemillion.blogspot.com/

If anyone else wants to sponsor me, please let me know. I'm up to $51 a mile so far. Pretty cool right!? So here's the question folks. Can you write some emails for me to any influencial person you can think of. I think that's the only way we are going to reach the number of people we need to reach in the next 80 days. Invite all your FB friends to follow GOM on FB. Send emails to your friends. That's what I'm going to be doing with all my free time for the next few days. EMAILS! let me know how it goes, and who you write to. Thanks everyone.

P.S. I'm glad my FB button started working again :)

Help me reach one million in one year. Donate now!

Day 284 - $16,036

So we're over the $16,000 mark! Thank you and congrats to everyone! Sorry It's been so long since the last post. I've been in LA visiting family for the holidays. I didn't really have too much access to the Internet. I did manage to donate $11.11 on 1.1.11 though! And thank you to the other 3 people that did as well. (By the way - if you signed up on FB to donate the $11.11 it's not to late. You can still do it!)

So we're coming down the home stretch. What can we do that would be big? Maybe something that would generate a lot of attention... so it will drive people to the GOM website which equals donations :) Help me think. Think. Think. Think. I'll come up with an idea... but I need you to come up with one as well. organize it and do it! We have to reach 1 million and we're running out of time!!!!!!!

Help me reach one million in one year. Donate now!

Day 278 - $15,890

I've been training for the walk-a-thon. Here's my outfit. Like it? :) Today I walked 5 miles. It was pretty easy.

So I'm not sure what's up with my little Facebook button. It's been stuck on 672 for a couple weeks now... even though we're up to 685 fans. Oh well.

Thanks for all the donations coming in!
So I have a plan... listen up! So here's what I want EVERYONE to do. Since New Year's Day is 1.1.11 this year (all one's) On New Year's Day I want everyone following GOM to donate $11.11. K? OK don't forget! January first... $11.11

Help me reach one million in one year. Donate now!

Day 258 - $14,349

Having a hard time figuring out what to get that special someone for Christmas?? Why not make it easy on yourself and donate to St. Jude in their name? This works especially well for "those" people that already have everything, and you don't know what to get them :)

We've had some donations hit from the donation can's we've had out around town! SWEEEEET! That is something you can do in your city.... Make a donation can and take it to the local store, movie theatre, etc, and then check back on it once a month or so and donate the money online. That's something you can do to help us reach one million in one year for the kids of St. Jude!

Help me reach one million in one year. Donate now!

Day 252 - $13,026

We sold a football! The multiple signature football is sold, but the Jonny Harline footballs are still left for sale. ALL proceeds to to Give One Million for St. Jude and count toward our million dollar goal.

Thanks to all our good friends who are supporting us and donating. Maybe people don't realize it... but it literally makes my day when I see a donation has come in! I know that may sound funny - because, it's not like any of this money is going to me or anything... but I guess it's just the fact that we are putting so much time and effort into reaching this goal. It just feels good to know friends/people out there support us and what we are trying to do for the kids of St. Jude :)

So in about two weeks we'll be to the 100 days left mark. Can you believe it!?!?! Everyone please keep doing what you can to spread the word about GOM. Become a follower of this blog. Become a fan on FB and Twitter. Email your friends. Organize an event in your area. I'm working on organizing events here in KC... but I need other people to just organize events and take care of everything and just donate the money. That's our only hope. I kind of sounded like Princess Leia there didn't I? :)

Anyway... Thanks again to everyone. I just got news today as well that Kohl's put the $500 check in the mail. So that should be hitting here in a week or two as well. Things are looking up everyone! Let's just stay with this a little longer. Something big may happen tomorrow - and maybe we'll be at a million!

Oh yea... and dont forget!!!:

The Greater Idaho Falls Association of Realtors Holiday Open House and it will be on Friday December 3rd from 6pm-10pm at the Shilo Inn. The Ticket cost is $17.00 and a dollar seventy of each ticket will be donated to the Give One Million for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital fund.

EVERYONE GO!!!

Help me reach one million in one year. Donate now!

Day 249 - $12,821

A couple of thoughts...

For Christmas what about sending an email to your friends, family, co-workers, etc telling them about GOM, and asking them to donate since this is the season of giving.

What about including a note in your Christmas cards telling friends about GOM and asking them to donate this holiday season.

Is there something you can do at church or school or work to raise some money. This is the season of giving - so it should be a good time to do some sort of fundraiser to earn some money for GOM for St. Jude.

On a different note...

Nobody seems to be interested in the signed footballs. I have some ads up on KSL, but nobody emailed me. I guess everything can't work :( I'm working an angle right now to hopefully get in contact with the Cougar Club and see if anyone there would be interested. Wish me luck with that.

Thanks to everyone that has donated lately. I really appreciate the support, and I'm sure the kids of St. Jude do as well! We just got the $700 from the IF Sonic fundraiser donated, and should have the $1,000 from ATK hitting soon. So when that happens we should be up to about $14,000!!! It's not one million... but it's still a lot!

Help me reach one million in one year. Donate now!

Day 227 - $10,493

We are going to be doing a Sonic Fundraiser in Idaho Falls on Saturday - so if you are in the Idaho Falls Area, be sure to stop by one of the Sonics in town to pick up a burger, and support a good cause. I'm going to be listing more details about the event in the upcoming events soon. I just wanted to give everyone a heads up.

Question??? Is your company or church having a holiday party? Will there be any way to raise money for Give One Million for St. Jude at the party? If so, please contact me.

Still no word from Ellen or the Ellen Degeneres Show. I emailed the producers... and haven't heard anything back. I'll keep trying. I'm working on an epic movie trailer for GOM right now. I hope it turns out well. I'll need some volunteers to help me with the film crew, and as actors. So if you're in the KC area, let me know if you want to help with that.

I think that's it for now. Remember, we still have $1,500 coming in. 1k from ATK, and $500 from Kohl's.

Help me reach one million in one year. Donate now!

Day 223 - $10,283

Hey everyone. How's life? I hope it's going good for you. So I've been thinking about a few things for GOM lately.

1. Just donating. When we first started we were getting a lot of just plain old donations. I know we've been doing a lot of events, and raising lots of money, but I still think that if this is going to happen, we have to have people just flat out donate. Every morning, the first thing I do is check the GOM hotmail account to see if anyone donated. And I'm just being honest here... but sometimes it gets a little disappointing when I check it day after day - week after week at times... and nobody has just plain donated. When I do open my email and see there is a donation - it literally makes my day. It doesn't matter the amount. Just knowing that someone out there is paying attention to what we're doing, and wants to help us reach our goal, and help the kids of St. Jude... That's what makes my day. So if you can, will you donate today? Whatever you can give will be greatly appreciated!!!

2. Facebook. The reason I push FB so much, is this: IF WE GET ONE MILLION FANS ON FB, AND EVERYONE DONATES ONE DOLLAR - WE REACH OUR GOAL! I know that sounds far-fetched... Maybe it is. But what if we get to 100,000 fans? Then it's only $10 a person (Actually less than that because of what we've earned so far.) Or, even if we get 50,000 fans. The bottom line is this. The more fans - the more money we are going to raise. So PLEEEEEEAAAAASSSSSSSEEEEEEE invite your friends on FB to follow and like the GOM page. www.facebook.com/giveonemillion

3. I just had a friend from High School call me up this week. Her company is having a Christmas party. Every year they have one, and raise money for a charity. This year... she thought of Give One Million! :) I can't tell you how happy I am to have her help! When people like that step up to help, it really makes me think we can do this! If I can just somehow figure out a way to get others to do what my friend is doing - we CAN reach our goal. It doesn't have to be anything huge... it can be something you already do (like my friends Christmas party) I just ask that you think of GOM.... I have so many irons in the fire with GOM, any help I can get is awesome... And that was the whole idea from the beginning. I'm not doing this by myself. This is a "we" project. I just so happen to be the one getting the ball rolling so to speak. My intent from the beginning was not to do everything myself - but rather do as much as I can, and hopefully inspire others to join with me. So think with me for a minute... is there something you can do? Something at your work you could do to raise some money? Are you going to be doing anything over the holidays that will let you tell people about GOM or raise some money? Maybe it's a dress down day at work. Maybe it's a donation can at your church Christmas party. There's hundreds of ideas.

4. And last... Sponsors! Do you know a company or does your company want to sponsor GOM for St. Jude? They can do it by donating money, advertising, or even their services. Can your company donate anything? I work for ATK, and I just got them to donate $1,000. Will your employer donate anything. We'll list them as a sponsor if they do. Do you own a business? Can you state that you support GOM on your website? Can you put up a button? Do you have business that advertises or can spread the word somehow? Maybe you work for a marketing firm. If so, can you donate some marketing services? It's just a thought. You'll notice we have lots of sponsors down on the right. (Please visit their sites!) But we'd love to have more!

Well... I think that's it for tonight. Tomorrow's going to be a busy day at work. Gotta get some shut eye :)

Talk Soon,
David

Day 211 - $8,076

Tomorrow's a big day! We have the potato sale in Idaho. See below for all the details on that. And I will be at The Hy-Vee here in Blue Springs on the corner of Hwy 40 and Route 7. I think we will be able to break $10,000 tomorrow!!! Oh yea... I also got news that my employer, ATK, will be donating $1,000!!!!! Is that awesome or what! I won't get it until next week though.

I've been going around getting gifts for the Halloween party on the 28th. I have a lot of cool prizes. I think were going to have a great time. Hopefully everyone can make it.

And last: If you have a FB account - can you please invite all your friends to like us on Facebook? Please? Just think... if we have 1,000,000 fans, it only takes one dollar from each person! So that's one little way you can help make a difference: INVITE YOUR FRIENDS!

Help me reach one million in one year. Donate now!

Day 200 - $7,428

Well, today is day 200. We've come a long way, and we still have a long way to go. 165 days to be exact. Welcome to everyone who is joining with us. We can definately use your help. I know it seems like we may not be close to our goal, but just remember - all it takes is one big break, and it could be a whole new ball game.

Remember the small things. Every day I send emails. I hand out flyers. I suggest the GOM FB page to my friends. I post links to the GOM website on the internet. etc. etc. If you want to help... it doesn't have to be huge. It can be small. It's actually better for a bunch of people to do something small than it is to have a few people do something huge. So if you can. Do something small today to support Give One Million.

And everyone at the Farmer's Market in Idaho Falls thought so too. A huge thanks to Ma & Pa Feldman and Hohoa Southwick for having a bake sale. They earned $290.50 for Give One Million for St. Jude. Great Job!

Day 179 - $6,798

So I think we came up with our next big Idea for a fundraiser. We are going to throw a huge Give One Million Halloween Party!!! No details yet. I've been thinking about it for a few days now, but just decided to go forward with it. There will be games, prizes for the best costume, Raffle, food, and fun. Don't have details on the location, date, and price yet. (I think I will be charging a small cover, and that's how we'll raise the money for St. Jude.)

I'll let you know as soon as I find a place and set a date.

BTW... Our party will be somewhere here in the Blue Springs area... but to my other fellow Give One Millionaires out there... A Halloween party would be a great idea for a fundraiser to do in your town!!! Start planning it now. If you do put one together - let me know, and I'll let everyone know about it on the blog.

Last... Donations... we need them. They have kind of slowed down. I'm still sending out emails, and trying to contact news/media people to spread the word, but I'm not having nearly as much luck as I would like. In the mean time, I just hope those visiting will be kind enough to leave us a donation showing your support - and helping us reach one million dollars in one year for St. Jude!

Day 173 - $6,774

So I've been doing a lot of brainstorming lately. Or I guess you would say thinking. I'm trying to think of the next big fundraiser I want to tackle for Give One Million. In the mean time, I'm trying to do as many small things as possible. You know... send emails. Set up a donation booth at Hy-Vee. Update my Facebook. But I want to think of something big for the next event. Something that can put us over the $10,000 mark! But what could it be.... Hmmmm. I'll let you know soon what I come up with.

So how are everyone else's Give One Million for St. Jude projects coming along? If you need any help or ideas just send me an email. I'd be more than happy to help.

Everyone - don't forget to email your friends and family about Give One Million. Ask them to donate. Every little bit counts.

Thanks everyone for your support. We can reach our goal of one million in one year!
